Our scars are treated with the Fotona Fractional Skin Resurfacing laser. This laser therapy is effective for both acne scars and other types of scars. The biggest advantage of this treatment is that no medication is needed and that it is suitable for all skin types.
The laser treatment works by means of skin renewal. The laser is used to remove the upper skin layers and create new collagen. The laser penetrates deeply into the skin (up to 2940 nm), without damaging the surrounding skin. The term 'fractional' refers to the method in which only parts of the skin are treated per pulse, recognizable by the dot pattern that temporarily becomes visible on the skin. The laser stimulates the production of new collagen by creating small heat holes, which refines the skin structure and reduces or eliminates scars.
